You may remember a certain Radiohead frontman surprise-released a new album late last year via torrent service BitTorrent. It caused rather a hoo-ha.
Now, Gigoam has done a bit of math trickery and come up with how much Thom Yorke may have earned from the experiment: $20,000,000.
This takes into account the 4.4 million downloaders all paying the $6 pricetag. However, as that final 4.4 million also takes into account the free download also featured, the actual figure who paid full-whack could be considerably lower.
Regardless, given that BitTorrent pinches much less than iTunes' 30%, chances are Yorke made rather a hefty wad from it.
