There's a petition to build a Keith Flint statue in his hometown
A petition has been launched to build a statue of the late Prodigy frontman Keith Flint in his Essex hometown.
Keith Flint died by suicide earlier this month aged 49. The petition has been set up by Saphya Gower in the hope of bringing a statue of the Prodigy vocalist to the centre of Braintree in Essex.
The description explains, Keith was important to not only the people of Braintree, but was well loved and respected world wide and a pivotal piece of the music industry. Braintree being The Prodigy’s home town we should remember him. It'll also reflect how important it is to talk about mental health and not to suffer alone."
"A statue of Keith is needed to look over Braintree and carry on inspiring the people to follow their dreams," Gower adds.
Having already gained over 4000 signatures out of the 5000 target, the petition will be presented "to the council and see what they may be able to discuss/contribute."
Following the death of Flint, NME reported a campaign to get "Firestarter" to Number One in the UK Singles Chart is underway.
