The xx share update from the studio, announce new live shows
The xx have shared a new update from the studio as they work hard on their long-awaited third album - they've also confirmed new European shows for next month.
The band have also shared a playlist of "songs we've been listening to the studio" - check it out above. The 27-track playlist includes tunes from Sia, Solange, Tirzah, Queens Of The Stone Age, and more.
"It's been a while but you've been on our minds," the trio write on Facebook. "We are in the studio working on our third album, it feels so good to be together making new music."
The follow up to The xx's 2012 record Coexist has been in the works for some time - In 2014 Jamie xx said it was "coming" - could 2017 finally be the year it's released?
The xx recently confirmed their live comeback with a headline slot at Lollapalooza 2017, but it looks like they'll be getting back together much sooner than that. They've announced live dates in Croatia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, and Japan - no UK or US shows yet - with Norwegian maestro Jenny Hval providing support. They "will be testing out some of our new songs in places we don't get to go to so often."
Tickets will be available in a fan presale from Tuesday, 18 October at 9am (CEST), and on general sale Thursday, 20 October.
