The xx's new album is apparently called I See You and could be released before the end of 2016
The xx have been making a bunch of suspicious moves lately, but it looks like we could finally have some answers.
An intrepid Reddit detective has discovered the album title and tracklist via Shazam - now, it's far from concrete evidence, but as the user points out, The Avalanches, Sampha, and Japandroids have all had their surprises spoiled by the music recognition app.
As Stereogum note, "On Hold" and "Say Something Loving" stand out: "[they] indicate that people have Shazammed them (5 times and 1 time, respectively)." This means that people have actually heard the songs, right? Maybe it's just the Shazam or label folks running a test. The xx gave us a studio update last month, so it seems odd that we might get the record before 2016's end, but that's not stopped many fans speculating.
Then again, if they're at the stage that they're testing Shazam functionality how far off can they be?

The xx's mysterious series of 55-second teasers continues as well, with the third - this time a deliciously funky snippet - appearing overnight.
As well as all this, Annie Mac confirmed that the moody three piece would be "playing live and chatting" on her BBC Radio 1 show this Thursday. Exciting.
