The Weeknd promises new material forthcoming in open letter
With his Trilogy mixtapes set for physical release this November, The Weeknd has come out and hinted at completely new material to follow shortly.
Posting a note on his blog, the R&B singer explains his recent video to ‘Rolling Stone’ while also hinting at reasons for his muted activity over the past year, possibly suggesting unease with his new found fame.
Tesfaye writes: “I want to thank you for listening and being patient for as long as you have”, before adding “You will continue to get what you fell in love with, and I will continue to give you what you ask for. I’ll never make you wait again.”
The most telling part of the open letter, however, comes with the closing lines: “With that being said, expect more from me very soon leading up to ‘Trilogy’. Thank you again for your patience and loyalty, I will not disappoint.”
