The team behind Trainspotting are working on a Creation Records film
Danny Boyle and Irvine Welsh are working on a new movie based on Creation Records' founder Alan McGee’s autobiography, The Creation Records Story: Riots, Raves and Running a Label.
Penned by Irvine Welsh, Creation Stories also sees Trainspotting director Danny Boyle on board as executive producor. The new film will be directed by Nick Moran (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), and stars Trainspotting's Ewen Bremner, Rupert Everett, Suki Waterhouse, and Jason Flemyng.
The film is based on Creation Records' founder Alan McGee's memoir, The Creation Records Story: Riots, Raves and Running a Label.
British label Creation Records was home to bands such as The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Oasis, Bob Mould, Guided by Voices, Teenage Fanclub, Slowdive, and many more.
A press release describes Creation Stories as " a story of relentless ambition, mental torment, drugs, bankruptcy, unfathomable wealth, courting politicians and of how one written-off young Glaswegian upstart rose to irrevocably change the face of British culture."
Speaking about the upcoming movie, Irvine Welsh says, "I’ve been lucky to work with both Danny [Boyle] and Nick [Moran] over the years and to have the two of them together on this project, along with Ewen [Bremmer], feels like a lottery win."
