Isle of Wight festival have announced the first headline act for next year’s event.
The Stone Roses will top the bill on the Friday leg (14 June), which will be a UK festival exclusive.
John Giddings, the festival’s promoter, explained the choice:
“When you talk about the soundtrack of our lives, The Stone Roses are embedded in it. I am so proud to get them to our island- they will kick the weekend off with a bang.”
The Manchester band recently reformed earlier in the year for a series of headline and festival slots over 2012.
Isle Of Wight festival runs between 13 – 16 June 2013. Tickets are on sale from this coming Wednesday (28 November).
