Having lost two out of their three members before they even recorded this material, Edinburgh based trio The Son(s) is now the work of just one man, whom we only know as Son. Confused? I certainly am, but don’t let that distract you from the oddly compelling, silky harmonies conjured up in forthcoming single ‘Radar.’
Due out on January 17, ‘Radar’ has already encouraged comparisons to the earnest traditional folk of acts like Iron & Wine and the sweeping ethereal nature of Bon Iver. With otherworldly vocals and complex instrumental arrangements, the last remaining Son’s soundscape is as haunting and eerie as the Ouiji board narrative of the accompanying video.
The Son(s) eponymous debut album is due out on March 7.
