The Smiths have kinda, sorta joined Twitter. But don't get your hopes up.
It's highly unlikely that this is a harbinger of anything in particular, with the sole Tweet reading:
Please note this account is purely to celebrate the history and the music of The Smiths.
— The Smiths (@Smiths_Official) April 6, 2016
It seems much more likely that this is the band's label (Warner) looking to plug older material and get the band officially online, or, at a stretch, get some publicity going for future reissues. Maybe they're just doing it so people will stop making fake accounts.
