The Smile announce debut album with new cut "Free in the Knowledge"
The Smile, made up of Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and Sons of Kemet's Tom Skinner, have announced their debut album A Light For Attracting Attention with a new single titled "Free in the Knowledge".
"Free in the Knowledge" is The Smile's fifth single, and will appear on their 13-track debut album with previous outings "Pana-vision", "Skrting On The Surface", "The Smoke" and "You Will Never Work In Television Again". The Smile's new song is accompanied by a Leo Leigh-directed video.
Thom Yorke performed a solo version of "Free In The Knowledge" in December last year at a Letters Live show at the Royal Albert Hall.
A Light For Attracting Attention is produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich, and mastered by Bob Ludwig. The album also features contributions from the London Contemporary Orchestra, Bryon Wallen, Theon and Nathaniel Cross, Chelsea Carmichael, Robert Stillman and Jason Yarde.
