The Roots to become 'Tonight Show' house band with Jimmy Fallon
The Roots will keep their position as U.S TV host Jimmy Fallon’s resident house band after the presenter moves to The Tonight Show when the programme relocates to New York.
Rolling Stone have previously reported that Fallon, widely regarded as one of American TV’s brightest, as well as a staunch advocate of alternative music, will take over from current presenter Jay Leno by the end of 2014 at the latest.
And now it has been revealed by Roots lead man Questlove that his hip-hop group will follow Fallon across the divide.
Fallon, who currently hosts Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on NBC, will reportedly move into a new “state-of-the-art studio” at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, aka 30 Rock.
