It’s not a secret that Jimmy Fallon hosts the best music coverage on U.S TV at the moment, but oft-overlooked are his resident house band The Roots. They had their spotlight moment last night, though, with members Questlove and “Captain” Kirk Douglas giving their take on Daft Punk’s recent record-breaking single ‘Get Lucky’.
Performing as ‘Black Simon & Garfunkel’, the pair did a folksy acoustic cover of the Pharrell-featuring track in the vein of, well you can guess, Simon & Garfunkel. They also rapped over some Super Mario Bros video game music.
