The Roots and Elvis Costello reveal tracklist for upcoming collaborative album
-
The Roots’ head-honcho, Questlove has revealed the 15-song tracklist for his band’s upcoming collaborative album with Elvis Costello.
Wise Up Ghost will be released on 17 September, but before then the hip-hop drummer has posted a photo onto his Instagram account with the caption: “Guess What Just Got Mastered Kids? The New #WiseUpGhost by Elvis Costello & The Roots. Gotta say this sounds incredible!”
The Roots have said that ‘Wise Up Ghost’ was originally intended as an EP, but was expanded into a full length album after their studio sessions produced an unexpected 20 tracks. Questlove has described the album as “a moody, brooding affair, cathartic rhythms and dissonant lullabies.”
