The Pop Group to reissue For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder? + "We Are All Prostitutes"
Seminal Bristol outfit The Pop Group are to reissue classic works For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder? and "We Are All Prostitutes".
It's the first time ever that For How Much Longer... has been reissued - and the first time that it'll be available digitally or on CD. The new package will come with "eight giant original artwork prints on four double-sided posters".
For How Much Longer... was originally released on Y (through Rough Trade) in March 1980.
Singer and guitarist Mark Stewart says of the release: “Context is crucial. At the time, The Pop Group were playing multiple rallies and benefits across Europe from Scrap SUS to Aid for Cambodia to our final blow out at the 500,000 strong Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament rally in Trafalgar Square.”
The album also features post-punk staple "We Are All Prostitutes". It was supposed to feature on the LP, but was notably absent from the final release, and will now be included for the first time.
For How Much Longer Do We Tolerate Mass Murder? is out via Freaks R Us on 19 February. "We Are All Prostitutes" will also be released as a limited edition coloured 7", backed with "Amnesty International Report".
