The Orielles detail debut LP Silver Dollar Moment and share new video for "Let Your Dogtooth Grow"
The Orielles have announced debut record Silver Dollar Moment and shared the visuals for recent single "Let You Dogtooth Grow".
The "Let Your Dogtooth Grow" vid was shot in Manchester and directed by Sam Boullier.
"The initial idea behind the video was to try and create something that combined aesthetic features from a range of our favourite filmmakers and auteurs," explain the band (sisters Sidonie B and Esmé Dee Hand-Halford and friend Henry Carlyle Wade). "For example the red faces are a subtle nod to David Lynch, the closeups of Esmé entering the dream state are reminiscent of Nicolas Winding-Refn and of course we have Yorgos Lanthimos to thank for the theme of the video and song."
"In some ways the video is not supposed to make perfect sense," they continue. "We enjoy film that encourages conversation and makes one question the meaning behind certain media. We like that it is subjective and left for interpretation - which is ultimately the whole theme of the song and video..."
The Halifax-born trio recorded Silver Dollar Moment at Eve Studio in Stockport with producer Marta Salongi (Björk).
As well as the album news and video, The Orielles have announced a new European tour, including shows in London and Leeds next April. Find out more.
