The National's Bryce Dessner to curate the Barbican's Mountains and Waves event
The National guitarist Bryce Dessner has been confirmed to curate Mountains and Waves, a two-day celebrate of modern American music, at London's Barbican centre.
The event will take place 9 and 10 May.
Dessner's programme will celebrate 'New American Music', and he'll perform material “inspired by the landscape of the USA. 20th century classics and sparkling new works.” He will also premiere Wave Movements, a joint composition between himself and Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry, performed by theBarbican Associate Ensemble Britten Sinfonia.
Sufjan Stevens’ Round-Up rodeo flick will also receive its premiere. Tim Hecker and Philip Glass are also set to perform.
The festival's programme takes place across The Barbican Centre, Milton Court Concert Hall and St Giles, Cripplegate.
