The Mountain Goats share new single "Cadaver Sniffing Dog"
The Mountain Goats unveil new offering "Cadaver Sniffing Dog" as the second single from their 17th album In League Of Dragons.
"Cadaver Sniffing Dog" arrives after January's lead single "Younger".
The Mountain Goats' upcoming 12-track album is their first since 2017's Goths, and was engineered by Matt Ross-Spang (Margo Price, Jason Isbell, John Prine).
On In League With Dragons, The Mountain Goast' frontman John Darnielle reveals it started off as a "rock opera about a besieged seaside community called Riversend ruled by a benevolent wizard, for which some five to seven songs were written".
He adds, "I am earnestly hoping that a new genre called "dragon noir" will spring from the forehead of nearly two years' work on these songs, but, if not, I am content for this to be the sole example of the style".
