The Maccabees' Orlando Weeks to release new album next year
The Maccabees' Orlando Weeks has announced that he will be releasing a new album next year.
It's been four years since The Maccabees' last album Marks To Prove It, and three years since they announced their split.
Orlando Weeks, the former vocalist of the indie group, launched his first side project back in 2012, titled Young Colossus. He returned back in 2017 with his debut book and companion record The Gritterman.
The Maccabees have shared some news about Weeks' upcoming project on their socials. The post reveals that Weeks will play seven live shows across the UK in September "to mark the start of a new project."

Weeks' site states, "Weeks will be performing new solo material, which will be released as an album next year."
In his own words, he says, "The album I’ve been working on for the last eighteen months is very nearly done. For me, holding my nerve has been a large part of finishing a record, and there’s a certain confidence that comes from discovering a song can survive in a room full of strangers. The flip side of that is that you unearth problems you wish had stayed buried. There’s every chance it won’t work, but that’s the gamble."
