The Maccabees announce farewell shows for summer 2017
The Maccabees have detailed their last-ever live shows - the handful of dates will be taking place next summer in the UK.
The band confirmed in August that they'd be going their separate ways, with a few last performances in the works to say goodbye to fans.
In their illustrious career the London-based outfit released four records, with the most recent, Marks To Prove It, landing last year.
The Maccabees' Felix White says of the dates: “We're planning on these final shows being a huge celebration, thank you and goodbye to 14 years of writing, recording, playing and touring together.”
The band's goodbye shows will take place at Manchester's O2 Apollo on 28 June, and at London's Alexandra Palace on 30 June and 1 July.
In related news, the band's brothers Felix and Hugo (White) have revealed their plans post-Maccabees - they've been named MS [Multiple Sclerosis] Society Ambassadors.
"It’s a great honour for both Hugo and I to be chosen," says Felix. "Our mum, Lana, had MS throughout our childhood, so we have experienced how difficult living with it is and how heart-breaking the effects of it can be. Being able to share that means a lot to us and we are looking forward to continuing to help the MS Society in any way we can."
