The London Evening Standard announces its list of London's 1000 most influential people
The London Evening Standard has collated a gigantic list of London's top 1000 most influential people from the worlds of music, art, TV, science, literature, politics, film, technology and more.
Included in this list are a vast amount of music-related names, including the obligatory Simon Cowell, and a range of noteworthy up-and-comers: Kwabs, MNEK, Foxes, Rhodes and Kate Tempest to name a few.
In terms of more solidified public-eye names, the likes of Kate Bush, Chris Martin, Sam Smith, Richard Russell, Mick Jagger, Calvin Harris, Naughty Boy, James Blake, London Grammar, Clean Bandit, Dan Smith (Bastille) and many, many more.
The paper's editor, Sarah Sands, says this in her opening letter:
"We celebrate the brilliant pioneers in whose footsteps others follow; those who have enhanced the spirit of London; and those stalwarts who have had lasting impact - our Capital Treasures. We also find room, as London always has, to welcome those who come here as they seek to make a difference. They share a vision of London's role in determining the success of Britain and beyond. So please celebrate with us an extraordinary group of people, the men and women who are writing a new chapter in the history of the world's greatest city."
