The Joy Formidable detail new LP Hitch, share flesh-filled video for "The Last Thing On My Mind"
Welsh rockers The Joy Formidable have announced their long-awaited new LP Hitch and shared the video for its lead single.
The clip for "The Last Thing On My Mind" reverses the "typical male gaze", and features lots of clips from films, TV, and YouTube all spliced together in an melee of passion and flesh. NSFW-ish.
Speaking about the song/video, lead singer/guitarist Ritzy Bryan says:
"It's a song about freedom, about feeling alive & a part of that is about sexual liberation too which is why we wanted to make a music video from the perspective of a heterosexual female gaze. It shows men in many forms, being free, being sexy, being watched, it's beautiful and thought provoking and is some small attempt to re address the existing imbalance of perspective and nudity in music videos."
Hitch is out 25 March on their own label C’mon Lets Drift in partnership with Membran. It follows 2013's Wolf's Law.
