Listen to "Maybe", the lead single from The Get Up Kids' first release in seven years
The Get Up Kids have returned with "Maybe", the lead track from upcoming EP Kicker - their first release since 2011's There Are Rules album.
The four tracks on the band's new EP were recorded last year at Fire and Ice in Baldwin, Kansas. The emo/pop-punk titans teased their return last month, but held off on showing off their new noises at that juncture.
Kicker's title stems from the quintet's longtime fondness for foosball - as guitarist/vocalist Jim Suptic explains: "You always look back in rose-coloured glasses, and I always remember when this band was really struggling and we were selling our CD collections to pay our rent and that sucked at the time, but looking back that was an amazing time, that was so much fun. There was no pressure or anything."
