The Flaming Lips to work with Miley Cyrus on her next album
The Flaming Lips’ blossoming friendship with Miley Cyrus is about to reach the next level, with Wayne Coyne and co reportedly working on her next album.
Speaking to Rolling Stone recently, Cyrus revealed that she’s currently writing songs for her follow-up to Bangerz with the Oklahoma band - and expect them to record it with her too.
“On my last record, everything we did was with computers,” she is quoted as saying. “But they’re real musicians – they can change keys on a whim. I’ve never seen anything like it. They’ve had me on this journey that’s greater than anything I’ve been on. It’s really deep”
Cyrus continues to state that herself and Coyne bonded by getting tattoos together and going to a 2 Chainz concert.
They are set to team up on a cover of The Beatles’ “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” for the Lips’ upcoming Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band covers album.
