The Decemberists' Colin Meloy announces new solo EP and tour
The Decemberists frontman, Colin Meloy is set to embark on his first solo tour in five years, marking it with a new EP to sell while on the road.
As Consequence of Sound note, Meloy will be self-releasing a solo EP of cover version, only available at the merch stand of one of the tour’s stop-offs. While the contents of the EP are not yet known, the musician himself is renowned for his covers in the past, bringing out an album solely of The Smiths and Morrissey renditions.
Meloy’s solo stint will take him across North America during November. His band last released a full-length album back in 2011 with The King Is Dead.
