The Dead Weather announce single series and new album for 2015
-
With Jack White revealing that he’d been working on new Dead Weather material back in August, Third Man Records have finally unveiled the group’s plans to share it.
A series of 2-track singles are set to be recorded and released between now and 2015, culminating in a full album containing the songs alongside “many more album-only tracks.”
These songs are “unlike anything else the band has ever done”, notes the record label, ” and are both ample reminders of the ferocity of this motley collection of low-lifes, grifters and ne’er-do-wells. These songs are not throw-aways. These songs are not demos. These songs are not outtakes.”
The first to be rolled out is a 7″ featuring songs ‘Open Up (That’s Enough)’ and ‘Rough Detective’, exclusively released as part of Third Man’s Vault subscription series. The single – pressed on yellow jacket vinyl with a custom glue-pocket picture sleeve – will be also available digitally, but Vault subscribers will hear it first as part of a “unique long-term plan for new music from this incendiary group.”
