The Cure have been added to the Roskilde 2019 line-up
Denmark's Roskilde Festival have revealed The Cure will be joining the 12 acts already announced for next year.
The Cure are the next group to be added to Denmark's Roskilde Festival 2019, joining the likes of Travis Scott, Tirzah, ALMA and Parquet Courts.
In 1985 The Cure played Roskilde for the first time, also marking their first Danish show.
Next Year they'll be closing the 49th edition of Roskilde Festival on the Orange Stage.
Other artists confirmed for next year's festival include Julia Holter, Rival Consoles, Scarlet Pleasure, Testament, Ghetto Kumbé, Full of Hell & The Body, and Nicola Cruz.
Head of programme Anders Wahrén comments on the new addition, "The Cure are in every way the perfect closing act for next year’s edition of Roskilde Festival. They have an immense back catalogue of hits and beloved classics from the past 40 years, and their remarkably close relationship with our audience will surely create a special and very moving atmosphere. When they asked to play the final weekend show on Orange Stage, we didn’t hesitate for a second. They can play for hours on end if they want to, and I won’t miss a second of it.”
A total of 180 acts are said to be announced for next year's festival.
