The Charlatans postpone rest of UK tour after two crew members test positive for COVID
The Charlatans have postponed the rest of their UK tour dates this afternoon (16 December) after two of their crew members tested positive for COVID.
The Charlatans, who were due to play Nottingham's Rock City tonight (16 December), have made the decision to postpone the rest of their UK tour, revealing that two members of their crew have tested positive for COVID.
In the first statement, shared by Tim Burgess, The Charlatans wrote, "It's the news we really didn't want but we have absolutely no choice. Two more of our crew have tested positive and it doesn't seem right to gather people together with current numbers of infections around the UK."
"With that in mind we are postponing the rest of the tour with immediate effect," The Charlatans continued. "We know our fans will understand as safety is our number one priority."
Please pass this on to anybody you might know who was coming to see us at @Rock_City_Notts - so people don’t travel unnecessarily. We will re-arrange the dates as soon as we can. Tim x

On the band's official Twitter account, another statement was posted, which reads: "In light of the current, rapidly evolving situation regarding the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 and the advice from the Chief Medical Officer not to "mix with people you don't have to" we feel it is unfair for our audience to have to choose between exposure to the virus or to avoid the show."
The statement added, "We are also aware with every extra day, the band and crew are further exposed so have decided it is in the best interests of all to postpone."
