The Breeders are back with new single "Wait In The Car" and details of a new 7" series
The Breeders have unveiled brand new single "Wait In The Car" - it's the first taste of a new series of 7" singles from the group.
The new 4AD release is the first material from the lineup that made Last Splash since they made Last Splash - Kim Deal, Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs, and Jim Macpherson. The accompanying visuals are by Chris Bigg and Martin Andersen.
"It all started with a brick," explain the duo. "We both liked the idea of using something iconic yet quite banal. An old brick has a story and it’s a beautiful raw object. We started collecting more and more (some intact, some broken) and realised how different they all appear, each one having its own identity."
"Wait In The Car" (teased last month) forms part of Single One, the first instalment in a new limited edition 7" series due out 15 October - it's pressed on orange vinyl with a cover of Amon Düül II’s 1970 track "Archangel’s Thunderbird" (recorded in Chicago with Steve Albini) on the B-side. The second single in the series will be out 27 October at independent record stores (it's on red vinyl with Kim Deal's cover of Mike Nesmith's "Joanne"), and the third chapter (on yellow vinyl with a rendition of "Gates Of Steel" by Devo) will get more details later this year.
