Thao and The Get Down Stay Down, who formed in Virginia back in 2003, have announced that the band is “dissolving” after more than a decade together.
Yesterday (3 October) on socials, Thao and The Get Down Stay Down announced their split with a statement. The post reads: "After over a decade of making music togehter, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down is dissolving. Thank you to all who have recorded and performed with us. Thao [Nguyen] and Adam [Thompson] are each moving on to pursue other projects."

The band released their fifth album Temple last year. Thao and The Get Down Stay Down, who formed in 2003, released their debut album We Brave Bee Stings and All in 2008.
