Tei Shi gives update on La Linda dispute with label, says "payment has been sent"
After explaining that her second album La Linda has been removed from streaming services due to a dispute with Downtown Records over the full advance, Tei Shi has given an update, revealing the "payment has been sent out".
Yesterday (13 July), Tei Shi posted a statement to socials explaining the reason why La Linda has disappeared from streaming services. In her statement, Tei Shi wrote that Downtown Records had "yet to pay me my full advance", and that she'd been "chasing this money that is contractually owed to me" for two years.
Tei Shi revealed she sent a cease and desist as a "last possible resort", and added, "but like every other attempt to contact them for the past few months (and almost every other attempt throughout the last year) it went unanswered."
This afternoon (14 July), Tei Shi has given an update on the matter, revealing on Instagram that she's been "informed by my team that the label has responded and payment has been sent out."
She continued, "Mixed emotions as of course it happened at the last possible moment and right as I finally got the courage to talk about this openly. I'm glad i'll be getting my $$ but also - this doesn't change ANY of what I said in my previous post and absolutely none of what I went through and the fact I had to get here to finally be paid. Thank you all for your support."
