Sweden's Teddybears merge flute solos with '90s pop on shimmering single "Broken Heartbeat"
Sweden's Teddybears, who blend a multitude of genres into their own pop brew and have been doing so for almost 25 years, have shared a new track.
Mixing slick, atmospheric pop music with booming dancehall, Teddybears and Beenie Man create a whirlwind blur of gorgeousness. It's got all the hallmarks of a taut Top 40 belter, and that's not surprising given the personnel. It flickers between bass-heavy club music and swooning synthpop - Teddybears do it all with aplomb, and the desire for their long-awaited follow up to 2010's Devil's Music is at an all-time high. Make sure you turn the volume way up for the flute solo at 2:30.
Teddybears are Patrik Arve, Joakim Åhlund (Les Big Byrd, Caesars), and Klas Åhlund (Tove Lo, Katy Perry, one of Robyn's main producers).
