Taylor Swift responds to new Kanye call footage, says edited version was made to "frame me"
Taylor Swift has responded to the new leaked footage of her phone call with Kanye West about his "Famous" song, and says the edited version was published to "frame me".
Last weekend, a new, extended clip of the phone call between Swift and Kanye and their discussion about his "Famous" track leaked online, resulting in the Twitter hashtags "#KanyeWestIsOverParty" and "#TaylorSwiftWasRightAllAlong".
The clip saw Kanye explain to Swift that there's a "very controversial line in the song" about her, and Kanye goes on tell her about the sex line, but not the "I made that bitch famous" lyrics.
Overnight, Swift has responded to the new footage via her Instagram story, writing, "Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for four years)..."
She adds a link to her story directing fans to a donation page for the Feeding America non-profit organisation.

Since Swift's response, Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian West has gone on a bit of a venemous Twitter rant, branding Swift as "very self-serving" and writing that she's been "left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying."
.@taylorswift13 has chosen to reignite an old exchange - that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now.

Kanye's wife adds that she "didn’t feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I’m actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now".
I didn’t feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I’m actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I’m left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying.

In a separate tweet, Kim adds, "To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that "Kanye never called to ask for permission..." They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word "bitch" was used without her permission."

The Kardashian also writes, "The lie was never about the word bitch, It was always whether there was a call or not and the tone of the conversation."
“declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.”

She goes on to claim that she never edited the video, and says she just posted a "a few clips on Snapchat to make my point", adding, "the full video that recently leaked doesn’t change the narrative".
I never edited the footage (another lie) - I only posted a few clips on Snapchat to make my point and the full video that recently leaked doesn’t change the narrative.
