Taylor Swift representative responds to report on worst celebrity private jet carbon emissions
A spokesperson for Taylor Swift has responded to a report naming the celebrities with the worst private jet carbon emissions, calling her placement in the piece "blatantly incorrect".
Last Friday (29 July) Yard published a report using data from the CelebrityJets Twitter page which named celebrities with the worst ccarbon emissions based on the use of their private jets. The report comes after Drake, Kylie Jenner and more have received backlash for taking short and hugely polluting flights.
According to Yard, Jenner and Drake aren't even in the top 10 "CO2e offenders". Instead, Taylor Swift is in the top spot, with her private jet having reportedly taken 170 flights since January. The report states that Swift's jet has spent 15.9 days in the air, and the average flight time is just 80 minutes. The shortest flight her jet has taken in 2022 is 36 minutes, and her jet has emitted over eight thousand tonnes of carbon so far this year.
Rolling Stone reports that a representative for Swift said, "Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals. To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect."
Yard's top 10 list also includes Floyd Mayweather, Jay-Z, Steven Spielberg, Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Travis Scott and more.
