Taylor Swift puts all her music back on Spotify, totally steals Katy Perry's thunder
Taylor Swift has returned her entire catalogue to the masses (i.e. it's on Spotify), and the timing couldn't be Swiftier, with Witness - the new album from arch-nemesis Katy Perry - out today.
In a sublimely petty move by the Swift, you can now hear all five of her albums (deluxe editions no less) on all tiers of the service - that means you can get Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, and 1989 whenever you want. After the protracted battle with Spotify and certain eventual deals with Apple Music, it looked like we'd never get "Shake It Off" et al. on The Green Giant, but it seems there is one thing that gets Swift to abandon her firmest of stances - the chance to take a jab at Perry on her Big Day.
Perry's new album Witness, her first since 2013's Prism, features collaborations with Migos, Hot Chip, Purity Ring, Jack Garratt, Skip Marley, Sia, Max Martin, Duke Dumont, and more. It features Nicki Minaj collab "Swish Swish", woke-pop banger "Chained To The Rhythm", and subtle ode "Bon Appétit". Listen to the whole thing below.
