Taylor Swift and Kanye West's "Famous" phone call leaked in full, turns out Taylor was right
A new clip of Taylor Swift and Kanye West's phone call about his "Famous" song has been leaked online, and it turns out the Lover singer was right.
Back in 2016, Kanye released "Famous", which included controversial lyrics about Taylor Swift - "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous (God damn) / I made that bitch famous."
Kanye then said that Swift not only "gave her blessings" in an hour-long phone call, but claimed the line was actually "something Taylor came up with". Swift's people denied that she'd okayed the song.
Kim Kardashian West then got involved by uploading a clip of Kanye's call with Swift, which sees him speaking to her about the sex line, but not the "I made that bitch famous" part...
The video made people believe Kanye and Kim, and Swift soon became a target for online trolls and bullies.
In September 2019, Swift spoke about her relationship with Kanye, and said of the phone call, "So when he gets on the phone with me, and I was so touched that he would be respectful and, like, tell me about this one line in the song. And I was like, "OK, good. We’re back on good terms." And then when I heard the song, I was like, "I’m done with this. If you want to be on bad terms, let’s be on bad terms, but just be real about it."
Overnight, a new, extended clip of the phone call has been leaked online, resulting in the Twitter hashtags "#KanyeWestIsOverParty" and "#TaylorSwiftWasRightAllAlong".
The clip sees Kanye explain to Swift that there's a "very controversial line in the song" about her. Swift sounds a little nervous, and asks, "What does it say?"
Kanye backs up, and continues to explain that he's tried to "rework this line" for eight months prior to his call with Swift. He tells Swift, "It's gonna go Eminem a little bit" and asks her to brace herself. Swift replies, "Well, is it gonna be mean?", and Kanye goes on tell her about the sex line, but not the "I made that bitch famous" line.
