Tanya Tagaq shares "Snowblind" from EP of National Maritime Museum’s exhibit tracks
Canada's Inuk throat singer Tanya Tagaq has revealed "Snowblind", the first track from her EP used in the National Maritime Museum's Polar Worlds exhibition.
"Snowblind" is the first release from Tanya Tagaq since her 2016 Retribution record and collaborations with Fucked Up's Damian Abraham and Toronto's Weaves.
The new offering features Ash Koosha, and is the first to be shared from Tagaq's Toothsayer EP, which originally accompanied the National Maritime Museum’s Polar Worlds exhibit in London.
Toothsayer sees Tagaq link up with collaborator, and percussionist Jean Martin.
Expanding on her EP, Tagaq explains, “I named this Toothsayer because I always liked the term soothsayer, to look into the future and to speak wisely. Teeth represent protection and hunting in nature. We are going to have to get our fists up and our teeth out to carve our way to survival in this world.”
