Tanya Tagaq shares blood-soaked visuals for "Uja"
Polaris Award-winner Tanya Tagaq has unveiled the visuals for her demonic punk-folk single "Uja".
The track features on the artist's Animism record, which uses traditional native Canadian throat singing techniques and experimental synthery to great effect.
Manitoba’s Procter Bros directed the visuals for "Uja", which mirror Tagaq's militant noises and themes - throughout her LP she highlights the necessity of nature, and the battle between primal instinct and modern conformity, and this video is a sublime representation of her complex ideas.
Animism is out now on Six Shooter; Tagaq will headline London's Village Undergound on 19 May to support the release.
