Tame Impala cover The Strokes' "Last Nite" at Primavera Sound
During Tame Impala's headline set at Primavera Sound Barcelona last night (2 June), Kevin Parker and his live band played a cover of The Strokes' "Last Nite" after the New York City group cancelled their first of two performances at the 2022 festival earlier in the day.
According to a statement shared by Primavera Sound on socials yesterday (2 June), The Strokes cancelled their 3 June performance at the festival "due to ongoing positive COVID-19 case in The Strokes."
The group's second weekend performance at the Barcelona festival on 10 June is set to go ahead, and last night (2 June) Tame Impala paid tribute to The Strokes with a cover of "Last Nite".
Last month Tame Impala collaborated with Diana Ross on the Minions: The Rise of Gru song "Turn Up The Sunshine". Tame Impala has also contributed a song to the upcoming Elvis biopic soundtrack out later this month.
