SZA says new music is "on the way" and confirms she's already shot a video for TikTok track "Shirt"
Earlier today (17 February) SZA appeared on CBS This Morning and confirmed that new music is "on the way", and also revealed that she's already shot a music video for the TikTok-teased track that fans named "Shirt".
Last month SZA revealed to fans that her main two priorities were finalising the "Good Days" music video and finishing a song she's temporarily called "Shirt", a title that fans gave to the track after SZA teased it on TikTok through a dance challenge last month.
Today (17 February) SZA appeared on CBS This Morning to discuss her new partnership with TAZO and American Forests. She's teamed up with the two companies to launch TAZO Tree Corps, which will see local people employed to plant trees in underprivileged communities of colour to help fight climate change.
According to Harper's Bazaar, the tree corps will be made up of 25 local employees that will receive training in climate justice advocacy, tree planting, and maintenance, and after completing their training they'll begin planting trees in underprivileged communities across Minneapolis, Detroit, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Bronx and Richmond.
On top of discussing her new TAZO Tree Corps project, SZA also gave an update on her new music. She revealed in the interview that she hadn't slept after being in the studio all night, and added that her new material is "on the way".
SZA also spoke about the TikTok-teased song that her fans named "Shirt", revealing that before she shared the snippet on TikTok she wasn't sure whether it would fit on her new album. She added that she's been rushing to get it ready, and also confirmed she's shot a video for it. When asked if SZA will still call it "Shirt", she responded, "I don't know, it's like, can we give that to them? I have to have some tiny choice, even if it's a pretend choice. So maybe we'll call it something obscure, something bizarre."
JUST ANNOUNCED: @SZA and her team are partnering up with @TAZO and @AmericanForests to launch the TAZO Tree Corps — to help fight climate change in areas most affected and create jobs in underserved neighborhoods by planting trees.
