Syd is back with new cut "Fast Car", which marks her second solo release of the year.
Following Syd's return with her new solo track in over three years "Missing Out" in February, Syd has delivered "Fast Car", which is accompanied by a video directed by Ethan Nelson and Graham Epstein.
Syd says of the new single, "I wanted to make something for the gay Black girls. I want them to see themselves in this and in me."
She's yet to follow up her 2017 solo album Fin.
Despite not sharing much solo music over the past few years, Syd has stayed busy and released Hive Mind with The Internet in 2018, appeared in Drake's "Nice For What" video, collaborated with Free Nationals, and featured on Disclosure's "Birthday" last year with Kehlani.
