Syd announces second solo album with new Lucky Daye collaboration "Could You Break A Heart"
Syd has announced her second solo album Broken Hearts Club, and has recruited Lucky Daye for the lead single "Could You Break A Heart".
"Could You Break A Heart" with Lucky Daye is Syd's first new material of 2022, following September's Smino collaboration "Right Track", which will also feature on her upcoming solo album with last year's "Fast Car" and "Missing Out".
Syd's second album Broken Hearts Club will follow 2017's Fin, and is co-written and co-produced by Syd. As well as featuring appearances from Lucky Daye and Smino, Broken Hearts Club will include contributions from Kehlani, Troy Taylor (Whitney Houston), G Koop (Migos, Drake) and Darkchild (Mary J Blige, Beyonce).
"The album is about a relationship I had that ended in my first real broken heart," Syd explains. "It almost felt like I joined a club because all of my friends went through similar experiences. It was like a rite of passage. I started writing the album on the relationship when I was in love. You're really getting the whole journey from the beginning to the end. I want people to find it beautiful. It's super vulnerable, sentimental, and it's soft. There's touching moments and a couple of dark moments."
