Suspect arrested for XXXTentacion murder
A suspect has been arrested after young rapper and singer XXXTentacion was shot dead in his car on Monday (18 June).
The 20-year-old rapper was shot and killed in Deerfield Beach, Florida on Monday while sitting in his car outside a motorcycle dealership.
Pitchfork reports that 22-year-old Dedrick Devonshay Williams was booked for first degree murder on Wednesday evening after a police chase.
Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, aka XXXTentacion, was approached by two armed masked men in broad daylight.
TMZ reports that XXXTentacion's mother held a vigil Wednesday night, where she told family and friends that she had just found out about the arrest.
The amount of confusion over the young rapper's fate led people to believe local rappers Soldier Kidd and Soldier Jojo committed to crime, as detailed by The Independent.
A charity event will be held on Sunday 24 June in light of his murder, which was announced via his Twitter.
