Superorganism link with Stephen Malkmus and Dylan Cartlidge on new cut "It's Raining"
Superorganism have unveiled their new Stephen Malkmus and Dylan Cartlidge collaboration "It's Raining", which is the second preview of the group's upcoming album World Wide Pop.
After announcing World Wide Pop with "Teenager" featuring CHAI and Pi Ja Ma earlier this month, Superorganism have delivered a second cut from the record titled "It's Raining", which sees them join forces with Pavement's Stephen Malkmus, and Dylan Cartlidge.
The band say of the collaboration, which is accompanied by a AEVA-directed video and features a Scott Walker sample, "We've been enormous fans of Stephen Malkmus forever, and we loved the idea of combining Malkmus and Scott Walker into a strange almost broken-sounding hip hop track. We'd done a remix for Dylan Cartlidge and absolutely loved his flow; we asked him if he'd like to try a verse and he fit so naturally. With Dylan being from the North of England and Stephen in Portland, the rain theme is all the more fitting for them too."
World Wide Pop will feature 13 tracks, and other new collaborations with CHAI, Stephen Malkmus, Gen Hoshino, Pi Ja Ma and Boa Constrictors.
The new album will follow Superorganism's 2018 self-titled debut.
