Sunflower Bean share "Crisis Fest" and detail LP2 Twentytwo In Blue
New York's Sunflower Bean have announced second album Twentytwo In Blue and shared new single "Crisis Fest".
"Crisis Fest" is the second taste of the trio's sophomore release, following lead cut "I Was A Fool".
"This last year was extremely alarming, traumatic, and politically volatile," the band say of the new number. "While writing this album, we often reflected back on the people we met while on tour. We felt a strong kinship with the audiences that came to see us all over the country, and we wanted to write a song for them - something to capture the anxieties of an uncertain future. ‘Crisis Fest’ is less about politics and more about the power of us, the young people in this country."
Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Jacob Portrait co-produces (and mixes) Twentytwo In Blue with Matt Molnar of Friends. The release dates (23 March) is very deliberate - it's when all three members of the group will be 22 at the same time. It's also (very almost) two years and two months on from the release of debut LP Human Ceremony.
