Sufjan Stevens drops two new tracks "Love Yourself" and "With My Whole Heart" for Pride month
Sufjan Stevens has shared two new singles, "Love Yourself" and "With My Whole Heart" in celebration of Pride month.
"Love Yourself" is based on a sketch that Sufjan Stevens wrote two decades ago, and "With My Whole Heart" is a new song. Expanding on the new track, Stevens revealed he challenged himself to "write an upbeat and sincere love song without conflict, anxiety or self-deprecation."
The new songs are also released alongside a 1996 demo and short reprise versions of "Love Yourself".
Some of the proceeds from the release will go to two organisations that provide support for LGBTQ and homeless children in America: the Ali Forney Center in Harlem, NY and the Ruth Ellis Center in Detroit, MI.
