Hear Sufjan Stevens, The National's Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly, James McAlister cover David Bowie
The minds behind sprawling opus Planetarium - Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner of The National, James McAlister, and Nico Muhly - covered David Bowie at a recent show.
The quartet, accompanied by string and brass sections, performed their long-in-the-making project during a special evening at the Philharmonie de Paris on 10 July. During the show, they performed a rendition of Bowie's iconic "Space Oddity", which you can check out via a fan-shot vid above.
Planetarium has been described as "part rock odyssey, part electronic experiment, part classical opus... [which] revolves around the cosmic ideas Stevens’ lyrics explore: mythology, astrology, science, astronomy and the intricacies of human consciousness."
