
Physical copies of Sufjan Stevens' The Ascension album delayed, new song "Sugar" landing next week
Asthmatic Kitty Records have announced that physical copies of Sufjan Stevens' forthcoming album The Ascension have been delayed, as well as confirming "Sugar" is being released next week.
Last night (8 September), Asthmatic Kitty Records revealed that physical copies of Sufjan Stevens' upcoming album have been delayed until 2 October due to "COVID-19 related manufacturing and logistics delays we could not have foreseen."
The digital version of The Ascension will still be released 25 September.

On top of announcing the delay, Asthmatic Kitty Records revealed in their Reddit post that Sufjan Stevens will release new single "Sugar" next Tuesday (15 September).
So far, Stevens has released two tracks from The Ascension - "Video Game" and "America".
The Ascension will be Stevens' first album since releasing Aporia in March - a collaborative LP with his stepfather Lowell Brams. It will be Stevens' first solo album since 2015's Carrie & Lowell.
As well as preparing to release his new album, Stevens has also shared the "America" b-side "My Rajneesh", and featured on Mina Tindle's recent single "Give A Little Love".
