Sufjan Stevens' favourite and least favourite albums of the year lists have arrived
Sufjan Stevens has shared his favourite and least favourite albums of 2021 lists, and most of his least favourite albums of the year aren't actually albums.
In the latest post on his Tumblr, Stevens has shared a list of his 16 "least favourite albums of 2021" and 10 of his favourite albums of the year. The list starts with his least favourite, and there's not a lot of albums on there.
Stevens gave 15 of the 16 on his least favourite list an F-, and writes that the Netflix hit Squid Game "looks really stupid" despite not seeing it. Dune, Matrix 4, "Crypto, NFTs, The Metaverse, etc", COVID, Instagram and musicals also made his least favourite albums list, which concludes with Adele's 30. Stevens gave Adele's album a B+, and wrote, "Girl, please. We know you’re 33. It’s on your Wikipedia page."
His favourite albums of the year list features Sam Evian's Time To Melt, Lomelda's Hannah, Todd Rundgren's A Wizard, A True Star, Peter Gabriel's Up, Alice Coltrane's Journey in Satchidananda, Beverly-Glenn Copeland's Keyboard Fantasies and more.
