Sufjan Stevens animates new visuals for Planetarium single "Venus"
Sufjan Stevens, The National's Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly, and James McAlister air new Planetarium track "Venus".
"Venus" links up with "Mercury" and "Saturn" to tease the full Planetarium project/record/suite. It's accompanied by vibrant visuals animated by Stevens himself.
The full project is described as "part rock odyssey, part electronic experiment, part classical opus... [which] revolves around the cosmic ideas Stevens’ lyrics explore: mythology, astrology, science, astronomy and the intricacies of human consciousness."
Stevens, Muhly, McAlister, and Dessner will unite on 10 July at the Philharmonie de Paris with strings and brass for a full performance of the project. Find out more.
