Sufjan Stevens and Lowell Brams unveil new cut "The Runaround"
Sufjan Stevens and his stepfather Lowell Brams have shared new single "The Runaround", lifted from their upcoming collaborative album Aporia.
"The Runaround" is the second taster of Aporia, after lead single "The Unlimited" landed earlier this month.
Stevens and Brams' new offering arrives with a visual that's shot and edited by ABUTTA492, and features Bike Life riders on the streets of Harlem, NYC, Atlanta, and Miami.
Aporia was created over several years during Brams' visits to Stevens' New York home. Stevens says of the process, "You know how it is with jamming: ninety percent of it is absolutely horrible, but if you’re just lucky enough, ten percent is magic. I just kept pulling out these little magical moments."
The collaborative album will also include contributions from Thomas Bartlett (Doveman), D.M. Stith, Nick Berry (Dots Will Echo), John Ringhofer (Half-handed Cloud) drummer (and longtime collaborator) James McAlister, keyboardist and trombonist Steve Moore (Sunn O)))), guitarist Yuuki Matthews (The Shins), and vocalist Cat Martino.
Aporia will be Stevens' first album since releasing The Decalogue score in October 2019.
